Our Purpose
“NEW HOPE EXISTS TO GLORIFY GOD BY PROCLAIMING CHRIST IN ORDER TO MAKE DISCIPLES IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS AND AMONG THE NATIONS”
Our purpose as a body of believers (the Church) is to Glorify God. We seek to accomplish this by making much of Jesus in all that we do, and in obediently following His final commandment to go and make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28). In light of this we understand that the Church’s primary mission is to equip believers (Eph. 4:11-15) and the proclamation of the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world (Eph. 3:10) According to the Bible, the church is composed of those who have been called out from the world and adopted into His family. The Local church then is the gathering of believers who come together for the purpose of glorifying God through the proclamation of Scripture, Singing, Prayer, and loving accountability. Understanding that God’s design for the Christian life, and Christian fellowship, is the local church; we as members of New Hope have covenanted together to biblical teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, praying, and to living life together as a Family, not only in Gathered Worship but in Our Life Together (Acts 2:42, Eph. 2:18-22). By joining together in this way we help encourage one another to walk in the light of God's glory and His grace toward us.
Our Priorities
Gathered Worship | Life Together
As a Church we are fully committed to the Bible as our final authority in the matters of the Church’s life. Our priorities, listed above is simply our attempt to summarize what the Bible teaches on these matters.
Gathered Worship
The gathering of believers is central to the life and mission of the Church. As the bride of Christ, we gather corporately each Sunday for to worship God the Father and Jesus the Son (Ephesians 4:11-16). We gather as believers to build unity in the body, encourage fellow believers in the faith and to declare our salvation through Jesus’ death and resurrection (1 Chronicles 16:23-31, Ephesians 2:19, Hebrews 10:23-25).
Our Aim: To praise & glorify God. This means we want to be God-centered in all we do during our service.
Our Services: You won’t find anything extraordinary about us, but hopefully you’ll find a group of people who love Jesus above all and genuinely care for each other.
Our Singing: We sing both old and new songs. Our main concern is to sing songs that are faithful and that are singable for the congregation.
Our Preaching: Our preaching aims to proclaim the truths of the Bible through the expositional preaching of the Bible verse by verse. Sermons are explicitly centered on God and intentionally applied to man.
Our Prayers:
Our Attire: Most are dressed casually. Some are in jeans. A few are in ties. Come as you are—we’d love to have you no matter what you wear!
